Chickasha Small Business Start-up Program
Apply to the Chickasha Economic Development Council (EDC) to be considered for this program. Applicants may be from any community, but must start a business that generates sales tax and has a physical storefront within the city limits of Chickasha, Oklahoma.
This program is funded and administered by the EDC in partnership with the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center (SBDC). For questions, call (405) 224-0787 or contact us.
Incentives and Assistance
The Start-up Program’s benefits include:
- First three months’ lease or mortgage payments OR first three months’ utility payments (cannot be combined).
- Utilities are defined as Electric, Gas, Water, Sewer, Trash, Internet, Business Phone.
- Not to exceed $5,000.
- 50% off participant’s first year of Chamber of Commerce membership at the Community level.
- Chamber of Commerce membership is optional and is not a condition of receiving the grant.
- Complimentary business counseling through the Oklahoma SBDC.
- SBDC business counseling is available at no cost to all small businesses, regardless of status or program participation.
Application Process
- (New requirement) Prior to submitting your application, contact the local SBDC representative. The SBDC will assist in creating a business plan, budget, and marketing plan.

- Submit the following to the EDC:
- Small Business Start-up Program application (linked above)
- Business plan
- Budget
- Marketing plan
- Your application will be reviewed by the EDC Executive Board.
- Should your application proceed, it will be submitted for approval by the EDC Board of Directors at the next regularly scheduled meeting.
- (New requirement) You will be required to attend this meeting in order to present your application and business plan to the board.
- If your application is approved, you will need to provide a Certificate of Occupancy, a copy of your sales tax certificate, a completed W-9, and a copy of your lease from your landlord (or utility bills) for payment to commence. Payment will be paid directly to the landlord or utility companies. Checks from the EDC are cut twice a month.
- This grant cannot be combined with any other EDC, Chickasha Industrial Authority, or City of Chickasha grant.
