Downtown Developments

Chickasha’s historic downtown is growing! Both existing and newly constructed buildings are available for sale or lease along Chickasha Avenue. Visitors are drawn to downtown for numerous events throughout the year. Our downtown has food, drinks, shopping, entertainment, and culture, all within walking distance.

The Chickasha Community Foundation is entering Phase 2 of the construction of the new urban park. $1.4 million in private donations funded Phase 1, which included the Science & Arts Art Plaza, remodeling of the freight building, and yes, the 50-foot leg lamp sculpture.

The City of Chickasha has received an engineering grant for a pedestrian bridge connecting Downtown to the Grady County Fairgrounds, and is pursuing additional funds for streetscape improvements.

Chickasha Airport Industrial Park

In December 2024, the City of Chickasha accepted a bid from developer Chet Hitt to purchase the Airport Industrial Park, consisting of over 200 acres of land adjacent to the Chickasha Municipal Airport. Hitt intends to finish the development of the property to become “shovel ready”, as well as constructing “ready-to-occupy spec buildings“.

The Airport Industrial Park development will go hand in hand with a major recruitment push with local and state stakeholders to attract out-of-state business owners.

South Chickasha Retail

There are multiple opportunities for retailers in South Chickasha. The Southland Shopping Center, Shoppes at Chisholm Trail, and Chickasha Crossing all have spaces available for lease. This trade area captures local consumers from a wide radius around Chickasha as well as thru traffic from Interstate 44 and U.S. Highway 81.

The Woodlands is currently under construction at the busy 4th & Grand intersection and has 13 lots available for purchase. Current tenants include Chick-Fil-A and Scooter’s Coffee, and additional key tenants are to be announced. This is a multi-use development that is planned to involve retail, commercial, and residential development. Across the street, Roaster’s Market has expanded into Chickasha with construction of a new high-end convenience store.

Two more national brands are confirmed to be constructing new stores on East Grand. The city is exploring options to add additional lanes to improve traffic flow.

Hospitality & Dining

Events year-round at the Grady County Fairgrounds and the Chickasha Sports Complex, plus other special events and general business travel, are creating a need for more dining and lodging options in Chickasha. A new Best Western recently opened on Grand Avenue, and the old Maverick Inn off I-44 has been fully updated and made into a new Motel 6.
