Why Chickasha?

More than the City Limits

The city of Chickasha itself is home to just under 17,000 people, but serves a much larger trade area (see image at right). People from over 30 miles away drive to Chickasha on a regular basis to shop at retailers that may not serve their area, and avoid the traffic of the OKC metro area. This trade area has a population of over 120,000.

Large Labor Market

Similarly, Chickasha attracts workers from a considerable distance. In 2018, 57 percent of employees in Chickasha drove 10 miles or more to work; 40 percent commute over 25 miles (OnTheMap). With our low traffic, a 15-mile commute takes only 15-20 minutes, and we attract a considerable amount of workers from Oklahoma City, Norman, etc. The total labor force within 30 minutes of Chickasha is nearly 114,000 (JobsEQ).

Grady County has grown by 7% since 2020 and borders the two fastest-growing counties in the state. For more information on our retail trade area or workforce, contact Research Analyst Matt Brooks.
