EDC Board Approves Start-Up Grant for Brandi’s Bar & Grill

At the regular meeting Tuesday, February 14, the board of the Chickasha Economic Development Council voted to award a Small Business Start-Up Grant to Brandi’s Bar & Grill.

After months of construction, Brandi’s opened this month at 101 W. Chickasha Ave. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Eventually, Brandi’s will have an outdoor bar & courtyard, shared with the Flower Shop Winery & Pizzeria next door.

The Small Business Start-Up Program pays the first three months’ rent or utilities for a new business with a storefront operating in Chickasha, up to $5,000. The money is allocated from the EDC’s annual budget. In order to qualify, the recipient business must produce sales tax. EDC Director Jim Cowan commented that the projected sales from Brandi’s, as reported in their application, exceeded those of any other Start-Up Grant recipient thus far.

Brandi’s is the fifth recipient of the Small Business Start-Up Grant since the beginning of the fiscal year in July 2022.
